My curiosity has always been drawn to the process of decay and what lies within the boundaries of our society and the utilitarian ideals, which creates certain objects and aesthetics. Regularly I try to define, interpret and record what it is that I am surrounded by. These items I picked up and collected oftentimes just walking around my neighborhood.

Found and flattened litter is the subject of the series Road Kill. After taking photos of these iconic objects in their state, implemented is the same technique that I developed with the LIFT Series. The image is first processed, adjusted and manipulated in Photoshop before I print on rice paper which I depend on for its translucency and texture to translate tones while upholding the clarity and precision of the photograph. Then the inkjet rice paper print is mounted on an unstretched canvas where I may apply graphite, pencil, charcoal, resin etc., making that last layer a process of sculpting it all down to what I call a finished painting.

Hang it as is or behind a glass frame.
