Movement in Indigo – sounds like that famous Duke Ellington jazz tune “Mood Indigo”:
You ain’t been blue; no, no, no.
You ain’t been blue,
Till you’ve had that mood indigo.
That feelin’ goes stealin’ down to my shoes
While I sit and sigh, “Go ‘long blues”.
Actually, I was not at all “blue” at all while making this piece. Indeed, quite the opposite. I love the color blue and I love creating in blue. I always have and always will. For me a good day would be painting the town blue, not red.
In creating this piece, I wanted to represent movement although the art piece itself is static. So I created this flow. I like it so much that I may do a series like this in various colors; the arrested movement series. My medium, colored resin, is all about arrested movement. It’s all about contemporary. It’s all about drawing your eye into the art. It’s all about popping off the wall.
Movement in indigo.
